PRODUCTS
What is the difference between glue-down vinyl plank and hybrid?
Timberland is glue-down vinyl plank (LVT) that is fully adhered to the sub-floor. Hybrid A7 and Hybrid 9.5 are thicker rigid-core planks; Hybrid A7 includes an attached 1.5mm IXPE underlay.
What does a 0.5mm wear layer mean?
The wear layer is the clear top layer that protects the design. All ArtiFloor ranges have a 0.5mm wear layer.
What warranty do you offer?
Timberland 4.5, Timberland 2.5 and Premium Herringbone: lifetime residential and 15-year commercial. Hybrid A7: 25-year residential and 5-year light commercial. Hybrid 9.5: lifetime structural and 25-year wear residential, and 15-year commercial. Warranty applies to installations that follow the installation manual.
INSTALLATION (TIMBERLAND)
Can Timberland go over yellow tongue or particle board?
Timberland must be fully adhered to a sound, flat sub-floor prepared to AS 1884-2021. Hardboard, pressboard and non-approved plywood are not suitable sub-floors. Check our installation manual or contact us before installing over timber sub-floors.
Can I install Timberland over existing tiles or vinyl?
Yes, if the existing floor is sound, flat and well bonded, and grout lines and imperfections are filled with a levelling compound. Imperfections can show through over time.
Can Timberland be installed as a floating floor?
No. Timberland must be installed with full-spread adhesive. Do not install it as a floating or loose-lay floor.
What temperature is needed for installation?
Between 18°C and 27°C, from 24 hours before until 48 hours after installation. Acclimatise the product in the room for at least 48 hours.
How is concrete moisture tested?
With in-situ relative humidity probes in accordance with AS 1884-2021 (ASTM F2170). Results must be within the adhesive manufacturer’s limit. New concrete must cure for at least 28 days.
Do I need an expansion gap?
Cut planks neatly to walls and fixed objects without forcing or compressing them. The perimeter can be finished with a flexible silicone suitable for vinyl once the adhesive has cured. Do not cover structural expansion joints.
Can Timberland be used on stairs?
Yes, with matching stair nose trims to finish the edge of each step.
What about rooms with strong sun?
Where floors may reach 45°C or more, such as sun-facing glazed rooms, use a high-temperature adhesive.
RATINGS
What does P3 slip rating mean?
P3 is a slip resistance classification under AS 4586 (wet pendulum test). All ArtiFloor ranges are rated P3.
What does L’nT,w mean?
L’nT,w measures impact sound transmitted between floors; a lower number means better acoustic performance. Timberland and Premium Herringbone: L’nT,w 52 (200mm slab). Hybrid A7: L’nT,w 40 (6-star). Hybrid 9.5: L’nT,w 38. Results depend on the building’s construction and any underlay used.
Can ArtiFloor be installed in apartments?
Yes. All ArtiFloor ranges, including Timberland 4.5, can be installed in apartments. Depending on the building and its strata or acoustic requirements, an acoustic underlay may be used to achieve the required rating. Check the building’s requirements before installation, and contact us if you need test reports.
CARE
How do I clean ArtiFloor?
